Robotic Spinal Decompression

Robotic Spinal Decompression and Flexion-Distraction Therapy is an advanced, non-invasive treatment approach used as part of physiotherapy and rehabilitation for selected patients with spinal pain, stiffness and movement-related problems.

The unit uses controlled and precisely guided spinal movements to help improve spinal mobility and reduce mechanical stress on sensitive structures.

How Does It Work?

Depending on the patient’s condition, the treatment table provides controlled flexion, distraction and/or mobilization movements to the targeted spinal region.

The treatment is individualized according to:

  • Your symptoms
  • Clinical examination
  • Spinal mobility
  • Functional limitations
  • Treatment goals

What May It Help With?

  • A digital foot scanner is a computerized assessment system that captures information about the contact and pressure distribution of your feet.

It can help our physiotherapy team assess:

  • Pressure distribution under the feet
  •  Weight distribution between the right and left foot
  •  Areas experiencing higher or lower pressure
  • Foot loading during standing and walking, depending on the scanner system
  •  Changes in foot pressure before and after rehabilitation
  • Whether additional footwear or insole assessment may be appropriate

What Is Flexion-Distraction?

Flexion-distraction is a manual/mechanical treatment technique in which the spine is gently moved through controlled flexion and distraction.

The aim is to improve spinal movement and reduce mechanical loading while allowing the surrounding muscles and joints to relax.

Who Should Consider a Foot Assessment?

A foot assessment may be useful if you:

  • Have recurring foot or heel pain
  • Experience discomfort while standing or walking
  • Have difficulty finding comfortable footwear
  • Are an athlete or physically active
  •  Have recurring lower-limb problems
  • Want to understand your foot pressure and loading pattern
  • Are considering therapeutic insoles

Does Foot Scanning Hurt?

No. Foot scanning is non-invasive and painless. Most assessments take only a few minutes.

Important to Know

A foot scan is an assessment tool, not a diagnosis by itself. Abnormal pressure patterns do not automatically mean that you have a medical problem. Your results should always be interpreted by a qualified healthcare professional in combination with a clinical examination.

What Can You Expect During Treatment?

Your condition is assessed

The appropriate spinal level and treatment parameters are selected.

You are positioned comfortably on the treatment table.

Controlled movements are applied according to your treatment plan.

5. Your response is monitored throughout the session.
